NAVA 14

NAVA 14: St. Louis, Missouri

Saint Louis University
October 3–6, 1980
Details and group photo of those attending NAVA 14: NAVA News Vol. 14, no. 1 p. 1 (1981)

The NAVA 14 Flag: Dorothy Clayborne based the design on the NAVA flag, defaced in the bottom center by a blue fleur-de-lis within a yellow circle, a reference to the host city's flag.  According to the flags designer "...the blue fleur de-lis on the golden bezant (bezant being the heraldic term for coin, thus standing for the Louisiana Purchase) from the St. Louis City flag is at the base of the chevron.  More than the Gateway Arch at the Riverfront or the Statue of St. Louis IX in Forest Park, the fleur de lis symbolized the city of St. Louis to me."
