Underwriting expenses at an annual meeting. NAVA is a U.S. 501(c)(3) non-profit.

NAVA relies on its supporters to fund projects beyond its basic annual budget. As a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, donations to NAVA are tax deductible to the extent allowed under United States law and article XXI of the 1980 United States-Canada Income Tax Convention, as amended.  NAVA’s U.S. tax ID number is 36-2669817.

The Conservation Fund supports the The Grace Rogers Cooper Flag Conservation Grant, which promotes conservation, preservation, and restoration of historic flags by granting funds for museums and other repositories and by lending its name in support of these efforts.  NAVA is a U.S. 501(c)(3) non-profit.

The Research Fund underwrites the Devereaux D. Cannon, Jr. Grant for Research in Vexillology. This grant supports original research in various aspects of flag design and usage in North America.  NAVA is a U.S. 501(c)(3) non-profit.

When members face financial hardship which threatens their ongoing membership in NAVA, fellow members help underwrite their dues. NAVA is a U.S. 501(c)(3) non-profit.

The scholarship fund underwrites expenses of young vexillologists attending NAVA's annual meeting. NAVA is a U.S. 501(c)(3) non-profit.
